In the country side everything is dark at night. There are no lights to brighten things up.
Today I miss London a little.
I miss the bright lights.
My friend and ex-roomy Eleonora makes really cool jewellery and I got to be the model for her collections – here are some photos from the 2013 spring/summer lookbook.
And so it has begun. The feeling I was waiting for. The feeling that actually arrived much later than I anticipated. I’ve started to miss home.
Spring is arriving in Europe and it’s truly the best time of the year. After a winter that lasts for way too long it is like everything and everyone are reborn – the colours are returning and so are the birds and sun and the smiles on people’s faces. The streets will soon be full of summer parties and the parks will be full of sunbathers.
But travelling is addictive and it’s difficult enough to decide which country to head to next, let alone deciding on a return date home.
I’m on Bali now, Lombok from tomorrow, and my Indonesian visa runs out in 2 weeks so I need to book a flight out of here. I can’t decide – too many options. My heart says Philippines but I’ve always wanted to celebrate Vesak which falls on the 24th of May (the Buddhist new year) in a Buddhist country…
I want to be home before the end of the summer but I also want to visit northern Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines and Shanghai! Maybe I should simply take a break from the Asian trip - go back home and work over the summer, and then head back to Asia later in the year?
Too many options makes the heart restless.
Has spring already arrived to London? Well, even if the snow returns again soon, I’ll be happy for what I can get. Soon I’ll be in the land of endless summer so won’t get to spend my favourite time of year in London this time.
When I came home from my long sunny walk I was greeted by the news of my 1st sale on Etsy! I’m always going to remember how I sent my first sold necklace to a clearly very amazing person in Colorado. Thank you!
Monday evening, met up with a friend and headed to an old victorian pub opposite the Royal Court of Justice. Ended up taking a taxi home from TigerTiger in Piccadilly at 3am… How did that happen?
Gorgeous summer has finally decided to return to London and we’re now enjoying the sun and heat. Got off a tube stop early on the way home from work to take a stroll through Finsbury Park. It smells amazingly of cut grass and flowers.
So I left the Spanish mountains and am now back in London! Met my auntie today for an afternoon stroll through Broadway market and Shoreditch. We were gonna have coffee at Syd‘s hundred year old coffee shop on Shoreditch High Street but it was closed unfortunately.
Instead we went to the Strongroom around the corner and drank some beers in their sunny garden.
So we’ve left Palma and are now staying in a small charming village out west called Soller. I managed to find the cutest hotel I’ve seen, Can Isabel, with only 5 or 6, individually decorated, rooms. Me and my brother are sharing a blue room with stunning views of the mountains that surrounds the town.
Mallorca is from what I’ve so far seen a very beautiful island but personally I think it’s a bit too exploited. It’s difficult to find authenticity and pretty much everyone you come across are tourists.
Anyway, off out to get some dinner!
While in Dublin…..
Walked around on the main streets, on the back streets, getting a feel for the city.
Met some people at the hostel while everything wa closed for Good Friday.
Went to a street clean-up at the canal and after we did a pub crawl.
I learnt to like Guinness.
Listened to street music.
Found my favourite bar of all time – The Workman’s Club.
Had a picnic in Phoenix Park and met even more new friends.
Found a local pub which promised “the best pint since the liberties“.
Danced, sang and played the drums with the old pub musicians.
It was a very good trip.
